Updated for 2019Christmas Gift Ideas For Travelers & Adventurers

Happy upcoming Chrismahannakwanzika everyone (and Festivus, or whatever you may or may not celebrate)! The holiday season is almost upon us…

Not keen throwing elbows with all the crazies on Black-Friday? Me neither- I’ll be sleeping.

But coming up with gift ideas for travelers and adventures in your life can be a bit of a pain, especially if you are searching for custom gift ideas. This can be a great idea for travellers because they can take something with them that reminds them of you if they ever get homesick. There are plenty of options online though so don’t fret. The best choice would be custom gifts with photo on to add to the thoughtfulness. Anyone would love this. But if this just doesn’t tick your boxes and you’re after something slightly more practical, then don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place! Here are some cool gift ideas for travelers.

The Inreach Explorer +

If you read this blog, then you probably already know I am a huge fan of this item. Of all the gadgets I carry with me this is one of the most important ones. The Inreach Explorer + allows me to send out text messages, GPS track my treks and has an SOS beacon in case an emergency arises. It’s small and easily clips to your backpack.

  1. I’d never seen one of those hatchet multi-tools until I read this article around Christmas time. I went out and got myself one and I’m back to say that I never knew how I camped and did these longer backpacking trips without one! Great suggestion and thanks again for your tips.

    1. Hey Matt,
Glad to hear you’re happy you got one off my recommendation! Funny enough a friend bought it for me as an Xmas gift a few years back and I constantly use it. Several of my friends that I regularly trek with at home wanted to know where I got it as it’s so handy. That gave me a clue to add it on my gift guide!

  2. Shit! I never thought of using it as a stuff sack! Been just drying it out and folding back up. D’oh! Likely Italy and maybe Amsterdam or Prague early next year. After that, not sure yet! Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  3. I will again second the suggestion for the Scrubba! I bought mine like 2 years ago based on your recommendation and I take it on every trip over 3 days. I love it! Super simple and easy to use! Thanks again!

    1. Hey Carl!
On this last 4 month trip I just returned home from I used it countless times, and it doubles as a great stuff sack. Any exciting upcoming travels? Hope you are well and happy Thanksgiving!
